Many are realizing the importance of health and how living active lifestyles and making better food choices can keep their bodies up and running and performing optimally. It is never too late to start! You can try these simple ways to get started.
Eat Whole Foods
Whole foods have all the nutrients your body needs such as protein and carbohydrates compared to processed foods which have all of those removed. Eating it only satisfies hunger while not giving you real nutrients your body needs. Chicken, ground beef, pork and vegetables have a variety of ways to be cooked so you will not be tired of eating the same meal.
Take Walks
Go out on walks and try meeting your goal on a number of steps everyday, and your physical health will start improving. Instead of commuting, if the place you need to go to is nearby, you can choose to walk or ride a bike. You can also choose to take the stairs instead of the elevator. Explore your new neighborhood at the Dorset Gardens and new routes you can take to make walking interesting.
Stay Hydrated
We have to drink at least 8 glasses a day to prevent dehydration, help with muscle recovery and let the waste inside our body pass. Make it a habit to drink a glass first thing in the morning. For an easier way, you can get a large water bottle and bring it around you from the gym to your work so when you look at it, you are reminded to drink, and with this you will be able to meet your goal.
Get Enough Sleep
Humans need 7-9 hours of sleep. This is the time where your body repairs itself and helps with recovery, reduces fatigue and keeps us sharp and refreshed mentally for the day. When you do not get enough sleep, you are put at risk of illness, stress, irritability, and sleep deprivation.
