Doreen tower approved

21 Feb, 2012 10:07 AM
A 32-metre-high mobile phone tower will be built on Green Wedge land in Doreen after Nillumbik Shire Council approved the plans last week.

Vodafone applied to build the tower in Yan Yean Road. Nillumbik councillors voted to greenlight the project despite six objections from residents concerned about the "visual dominance" and the potential health risks from the tower's radio emissions.
