Black Saturday: Garden of Reflection

01 Feb, 2011 04:00 AM
To mark the second anniversary of the Black Saturday bushfires, Kinglake West residents Rowan Sharp, Steve Fleming and Jackie Maughan are putting the final touches on the Garden of Reflection, due to be opened on Sunday at 2pm.

The garden, designed and created with the help of NMIT students, is behind the oval at the Kinglake West Mechanics Institute Hall, and will be a place of reflection. In conjunction with the opening, a gallery displaying the works of local artists will be launched at the hall over the same weekend. It will be open from 10am to 4pm. Details: 5786 5513.
